Exploring the Riverside – Birding at Phillaur – Part 3

Exploring the Riverside – Birding at Phillaur – Part 3

On 23rd, I went birding near the Sutlej river on my Trek Wahoo bike. The trip was short and totally meant for exploring. I hardly even photographed 2 species.

I went straight to the Shani Gaon Temple and carried on the same path for about 4-5 kilometers where I was just about on the banks of the river. I didn’t got close to the shore.

There I decided to spend time photographing a Pied Bushchat. I didn’t photograph any other species and took about 200 shots of the Bushchat, some of which were at super close range.

Pied Bushchat

While I was photographing the Bushchat, I saw a Harrier fly past above us. It was a Hen Harrier. I was so stunned on seeing the bird that I forgot to lift up the camera and click.

When it passed away I again took to the Bushchat and after clicking hundreds of shots, I ended the trip there and rode back home.
